Why not make a weekend of Frestival in beautiful Shrewsbury?

Just a few years ago, it was really tricky for somebody suffering from allergies or needing to eat a free-from diet to go for a meal out.

Restaurants and cafes would have limited options for gluten-free, dairy-free or vegetarian and vegan diets.

But now things have massively changed and Shrewsbury is a wonderful place to visit to see that change for yourself.

Why not book yourself a weekend away in Shrewsbury when you book tickets to Frestival on May 16?

After spending the day exploring what we have to offer at the Greenhous West Midlands Showground, you can then spend the rest of the time enjoying our wonderful town.

On our website at www.shropshirefrestival.co.uk/useful-info/, we recommend Shrewsbury’s Premier Inn, which is right in the town centre, and also Ferndell Bed and Breakfast in the Abbey Foregate area, where you can even take part in some creative workshops, such as sourdough bread.

And while you walk around Shrewsbury, why not try out a couple of the many great cafes, restaurants and pubs catering for a wide range of diets and offering several gluten-free, dairy-free and meat-free options on the menu?

We love Plantkind on Milk Street, which offers vegan take-away street food, such as salads and falafels and most of their meals are gluten-free too. Their plant-based coffee, organic teas and cakes are fabulous.

Another favourite is the Japanese Vegan restaurant Itadakizen on Fish Street, which also focuses on not wasting any food. Guests are encouraged to take food home if they do have any leftovers.

Why not also try the Good Life another vegetarian and vegan restaurant, which offers amazing dairy-free puddings?  The cafe on Barracks Passage prides itself on using fresh and locally-sourced produce.

We are thrilled there are so many great places in Shrewsbury that are taking into account people’s dietary requirements.
